Homework, Public Speaking, and Travelogues

It’s been a while.  I’ve been drowning in homework lately, so that’s why I haven’t had a chance to just sit down and write a post.

Lately I’ve been toying with the idea to make a YouTube channel, just to blog about my life and help me to become more comfortable with public speaking.  I’m most certainly not the best public speaker, but I’m not horrified of it either.  I tend to have the mentality of “Just get it over with” so I speak too fast and things generally go downhill from there.  I also just really like all of the YouTubers I subscribe to.  They seem so comfortable in front of a camera, in front of an audience of maybe even millions of people.  I want to be like that, just so comfortable with myself.

In English class, we have an extra credit opportunity to write a short travelogue.  This is in relation to our summer reading, which was Travels with Charley In Search of America by John Steinbeck.  Honestly, I have no clue what to write about.  I have been on many trips, but none of them have been recent enough for me to remember exactly what happened, or maybe even quotes someone said.  I’ve thought about perhaps doing a “Trip through the Past” sort of thing, where I read through my old journals and look through my iPhoto and Aperture libraries, reliving the things I took pictures of in the past.  I just have absolutely no idea where to start that story.  Perhaps I’ll brainstorm some ideas later.

Enough of my ranting, now.  Time to get back to work.  I have several more pages of my history textbook to read, a Spanish paragraph to translate, a travelogue to write, and algebra II homework to do.
